Cat Themed Wallpaper for our Guest Toilet! 🐈😻🐈⬛

Ok, so stay with me on this… Because no-one else in my household is currently on board with my vision.
In my life as both an economist and qualified interior decorator, I have really aimed to balance good taste with value for money and a ‘waste not, want not’ attitude. This often translates into timeless, good quality and unique selections that will stand the test of time and work well with other parts of a home to create a seamless sense of ‘who lives here’. The idea is to get it right the first time, and not be so out there that you later regret your decision. You want your selections to last.
However, life is short, right?! And sometimes it is fun to indulge yourself and do something a little different, even if you suspect you might regret it.
With that in mind, I have been thinking of wallpapering our guest bathroom with a cat-themed wallpaper! If you follow me, you will know that I absolutely love cats. So do my whole family. In fact, last year we brought two ‘street cats’ back with us from Jakarta - an extremely difficult and time-consuming process that took the cats to three different countries and 4 cities over 7 months in order to qualify for Australia’s super strict quarantine laws. Anyway, I digress…
So, initially I went on to the websites of several of Australia’s better known wallpaper supply companies. I was shocked however, to see that there were almost no cat-themed wallpapers to be found… My search was almost over as quickly as it had begun.
Thankfully, I then recalled seeing a rather whimsical wallpaper at a friend’s house earlier this year. When I asked her where she had found it, she said Etsy.
So, off to Etsy I went. And wouldn’t you know it, there are a crazy amount of cat-themed wallpapers available via Etsy. Who would have thunk it?! Definitely not my husband, who despite his love for our cats, would rather not wrap our second toilet up in cat wallpaper ;-) Nor my teenage sons! But there you have it, a sign if you will.
